News Letter
‘Too many cooks spoil the broth’ goes the saying! But the
adage has merit depending towards what? it applies. One can never -
indeed seldom do - have too many to help-out let alone to spoil! In
common with other organisations in our parish I know from experience
how much one yearns for those extra pair of hands!
I recently found out exactly what we have to do when seeking help from
LINK. Many are already aware of the procedure but I aim the following
‘guide’ to those yet to approach LINK for help, advise,
assistance, support, whatever!
But! Would LINK help out with YOUR particular need or want or both?
Well, simply ask LINK by ringing 07970 617617. The
friendly helpful voice at the other end will sort-out the problem when
you answer a few simple questions. LINK staff do not require to know
the absolute ins-and-outs of your situation because confidentiality is
always respected. In simple terms the plan is for you to realise your
requirements and for LINK to get you from A to B and back again! There
is no charge but you will be given an envelope and invited to
voluntarily give a donation to LINK.
Whilst the mobile phone is not manned during normal working hours nor
on bank holidays (albeit LINK does undertake tasks in these periods)
there is always that leave-a-message facility. And when so doing please
remember to clearly give your name and above all YOUR telephone number.
A call-back to you will be done soonest.
And so LINK’s friendly helpful telephone voice is one of the
‘proverbial cooks’ that makes LINK what it is without
spoil! LINK’s need for volunteers never ends and with more
registered helpers it can make the tasks of the few much easier to
perform and manage. ’The more the merrier!’
