V- Child sponsorship.
BMCC runs most of its activities such as feeding; paying school fees, and primary school provided for at Bala Mercy Primary school where over 1000 children are being fed and attends the schools and other dailyand other over 2000 being supported across the five orphanages  only through child sponsorship  and donations from well wishers. and friends.

The center also provides bursaries for destitute bright secondary school orphaned children and by sponsoring a child you make difference in children lives. More families also gets assistance through child sponsorship for instance if BMCC sponsor one child from a family with more or other children with needs, the other children also benefit when BMCC provides shelter for the whole family, and weekly support for food with only US $35 or £15.00 pounds a month you can sponsor child and make huge difference in children lives. US $40.00 supports a whole family of four or more children per month, and US $400.00 give a family shelter of a tin roof and mud walled kraal.

BMCC will be able to support other development activities through child sponsorship programme if more people join to sponsor children.

Some reasons why we do what we do!
Somer reasonswWhy BMCC is involved in this work
  • Two in every ten children born die before reaching the age of five.
  • Malnutrition affects around one in every three children.
  • 70% of the population in rural areas have no access to clean safe water.
  • Only one in four children go to secondary school.
  • Over two million people are living with HIV/AIDS almost 150% of the population in Kenya.
  • 2,500,000 children are orphaned by
  • AIDS.
Overview of the Country
Kenya is on the East coast of Central Africa, Kenya is home to some of the earliest known human remains.  The British Empire made Kenya colony in 1920 and it was only in 1963 that the country gained independence.   Agriculture is the Kenya economic activity, with most families relying on the success of their crops for survival.  The extended family is integral to traditional culture, poverty is widespread in Kenya, especially in rural areas with over 70% of the population estimated to be living in poverty.  Kenya also had high percentage of his population living with HIV/AIDS, over 3 million people are said to be living with the disease, which means many children will be orphaned, yet over 1,500,000 are orphans in Kenya.

Other Killer Diseases
Besides HIV/AIDS there are other killer diseases, 10% of children die before age of five and many of these deaths are caused by preventable or treatable diseases such as Malaria a disease spread by mosquito.  Providing children and families with mosquito bed nets treated with insecticide greatly reduces the risk of contacting Malaria.

Planned projects
There are a number of planned projects which will develop the capacity and scope of the Bala Children’s Centre:
  • Secondary school
There is an urgent need to provide secondary education up to age 16 for the children, as state-provided secondary education costs an impossible £500 us $ 600 a year. The alternative is the probability of the children barely surviving below the poverty line, trying to scratch a living from the land. This project is on and three classroms has been built additional 4 and Adminstration block needed, library, kitchen and Dinning, and science lab.
  • Vocational centre
To provide skills for children over 13 to enable them to get jobs to support themselves and even to start local businesses. This will give the children an alternative to secondary education.
  • Clinic
Bala badly needs a clinic to provide medical treatment and care to the children. This would involve a nurse, a visiting doctor and medical supplies. A clinic based at Bala could also provide care to paying patients so, once established, could be self-sustaining to some degree.
  • Dormitories for older girls
The conversion of two existing buildings into dormitory accommodation would provide suitable accommodation for the older girls.
  • Self-sufficiency
Bala needs to rent or buy additional land to grow enough maize, beans and other crops to enable it to become more self-sufficient in food. A chicken project and keeping some cows will provide the children with a better diet – and the Centre with additional produce which they can sell.
  • Dormitories and classrooms in other Orphanages,
  •  Chapels or worship in each Orphanage,
  •  Church Buildings in different areas this is in conjuction with Word aflame church.
