About the National Osteoporosis Society
The National Osteoporosis Society (NOS) is the only UK national charity which is dedicated to improving the diagnosis, prevention and management of this disease.
The NOS offers support to people with osteoporosis, their families and carers, through a range of detailed information booklets, a quarterly magazine, Osteoporosis News, regional roadshows where members can hear experts present the latest advances in prevention and treatment, a national telephone helpline staffed by osteoporosis nurse advisors on 0845 450 0230 and a network of over 130 support groups across the UK.
It lobbies the UK Government, devolved assemblies and the National Health Service to persuade them to prioritise osteoporosis as a serious health problem which requires adequate services.
