You are welcome to come and give the class a try, free of charge, to see if it suits you, but please telephone first to check that we will be there.

Gentle exercise classes consist of:
  1. MOBILITY AND WARM UP
Slowly and rhythmically putting the joints and main muscle groups through a wide range of movements and preparing them for the involvement to follow.
  2. MAJOR ACTIVITY
Increasing the intensity, low impact through joints, strengthening bones and building muscle. The heartbeat is raised to a comfortable level improving cardio vascular performance.
  3. COOLING DOWN
Tapering down slowly from the main workout until the body is back to a steady state.
  4. STRETCHING
Stretching the muscles that have been involved in the exercise to take out any tension.
  5. VARIETY
Other exercises can be line dancing, use of equipment for resistance strength and toning, Tai Chi.
  6. BENEFITS
Improving posture and balance; building confidence; reducing pain and stiffness; socialising and enjoyment - all of which will help reduce the risk of falling, a primary cause of fractures in people with osteoporosis.
