MONITORING AND EVALUATION

M&E in the project is a responsibility of a technical team of five people and focal persons based in the center points. The technical team comprises of a community mobiliser, chief career guide, medical practitioner, and two trainers.
M&E activities are done at both district and sub-center points. The technical team is responsible for developing the system and carrying out central M&E framework, preparing reporting tools, compiling reports and organizing project reviews. The system will be simple but good enough in proving data and information to management for effective evidence based management approaches.

Performance indicators are those recommended in the Uganda national monitoring and evaluation strategic framework.
Baseline data and information will be documented and performance indicators will be set for all the essential indicators of the proposed interventions.

During implementation phase, service data and information will be documented and reported on a monthly basis by trainers, child-care facilitators, community support groups, and career guidance providers.
The project performance analysis reports will be complied and reviewed internally by all levels, based on which strategies to improve performance will have been planned.

In addition to the team of existing technical team, supervisors fro donor agencies or partners will supervise and provide technical back up. Approaches like setting target and sharing and disseminating results regularly within communities will be used to maintain good performance and serve purposes of public accountability.

The Community learning events are a big M&E component of the initiative. This involves organizing community events such as learning shows, dissemination workshops as community levels, the use of bulletins at child care centers, radio programs using local FM and exchange visits between communities and beneficiary groups. These events keep the communication about talent development; response alive and effective.
There is always a project review annually to check progress in achieving objectives of the Initiative and to further refine project strategies.
