About us

THE RIVER OF LIFE MINISTRIES UGANDA runs orphansheartministries Uganda which provides the following programs below:

The River of life Ministries Community Development is an indigenous not-for profit organization with the prime focus of providing formal education, health care, HIV/AIDS education, vocational training, and preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ to desperately poor, neglected and forgotten AIDS orphans and widows.

The organization was founded in 2007 and in 2008,it received recognition and registration by the government of the republic of Uganda as a non-governmental organization.

We are situated in Jinja district, which lies 80kms East of Kampala city, Uganda's capital.

Uganda as a developing country is among other problems, afflicted by Civil wars, hunger, economic stagnation, extreme poverty, low literacy levels, and the AIDS pandemic that continues its deadly foray into every village. This calls for innovative actions that are designed and implemented to bring about change. TROLM is actively pursing this at the grass roots.

As development partners, non-governmental organizations are proving to be more effective at grass roots where government hands cannot reach. TROLM is one of the few grass roots organization based in the Eastern Uganda offering education and HIV/AIDS services to the rural communities as well as helping to facilitate their social, spiritual, Educational and economical well being.

We derive our support from the valuable services of volunteers, Christian and non-Christian resources and our dear partners in-country and abroad who offer financial, moral, educational and material support to facilitate our activities.

MISSION STATEMENT
TROLM  is a community based organization with a mission to empower, serve and sustain the capacity of orphaned children and widows to enable them be self reliant to intervene and respond to their needs (physical, spiritual, educational and emotional) individually, in their families and in the communities they live in.

OUR VISION
To change the orphaned children and widows holistically and with passion to free them out from the bondage of suffering of physical and economically, extreme level of poverty, illiteracy, disease and other causes of human suffering.

OUR AIM
TROLM was established with an aim to provide care and protection for orphaned children, committed to prevent child abuse and neglect, To empower the foster parents with skills in income generating activities for sustainable living, every program is focused on helping Vulnerable Children, Orphans, needy families and children in crisis situations, through supporting and strengthening by helping pay their school fees so that they get an education are our primary target areas and it is the only way to free them from the bondage of suffering.

WHY WE HELP
In the communities served by TROLM organization, the devastating effects of HIV/AIDS are most obvious in children, elderly guardians, and widows more especially evident from the ever increasing number of HIV/AIDS orphans. These children are often psychologically traumatized seeing their parents die away and being left alone or in the hands of relatives who at times are strangers to them.

Because the epidemic mainly eliminates the main bread earners in the affected families, it therefore greatly affects the sustainability of the households. In many instances, the orphans left behind are in the hands of a guardian; fellow child, or one parent (who may be infected) and lack the basic childcare and protection. Some are even taken advantage of by either their own guardians or by external people resulting in early pregnancies and school drop outs in case of the girl child. The rights of these children and widows therefore need to be protected.

In executing this mission we are embracing the Holy scriptural messages in James 1:27, Mathew 25:35-45 and psalms 68:5-6 a father to the fatherless, and a judge for the widows is God in his holy Habitation. God setteth the Solitary/lonely orphans and widows) in the families, he brings out those, which are bound with chain.
